Kim is an experienced psychologist with a Masters in Guidance and Counselling from The University of Queensland. She works collaboratively with people of all ages who present with concerns such as anxiety, low mood and depression, trauma, grief and loss, stress, emotional dysregulation, and low self-esteem. Kim supports people on NDIS plans, particularly those diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders, to work towards their goals. If you are seeking to understand your cognitive (IQ) and learning profile, Kim can administer psychometric assessments to help guide interventions.
Kim comes from an educational background and has spent many years working as a school psychologist. She is passionate about improving the learning, behaviour, and emotional & social development of children and adolescents. Kim uses a strength-based approach and will link in with families, educators and referring agents, when required.
Kim draws from an eclectic range of evidenced-based treatment modalities that includes Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focused Therapy, Mindfulness-based therapies, Emotional & Social Skills Training, and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT).
