Asperger's Syndrome & Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC/ASD)
Sunshine Coast Diagnostic Clinic for Asperger's Syndrome & Autism Spectrum Conditions
Children and adults on the autism spectrum
At E&A, we have a number of psychologists dedicated to providing the highest quality services for children and adults on the autism spectrum and their families.
Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC) or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a complex neurodevelopmental condition that affects behaviour, communication and social functioning. It is often hard to know who to seek help from, where to start, and how to find the right information for you or your child when exploring a diagnosis of autism.
Experienced psychologists for ASC and ASD
Dr Johann Eloff & Dr Lize Andrews along with their ASD team at E&A, have extensive experience in autism and Asperger’s syndrome as well as Pervasive Developmental Disorder- Not Otherwise Specified (PDDNOS). They are able to provide individualised and evidence-based knowledge, assessments and support to you and your family.
Dr Johann Eloff continues to be supervised by the world expert in autism, Professor Tony Attwood. Johann worked with Tony and Dr Michelle Garnett at Minds & Hearts when it was a specialist Asperger’s and Autism clinic, after completing research under the supervision of Tony investigating communication skills of children with Asperger’s Syndrome. Dr Lize Andrews, early in her career, also researched a friendship skills program for children with Asperger’s Syndrome, High Functioning Autism and PDD-NOS, developed by Professor Tony Attwood.
AT E&A, our psychologists are not only interested in providing your family with the right diagnosis and treatment goals, it is our mission to also work with you to find your child’s or your strengths and talents.
We provide Gold-standard diagnostic assessments including the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, Second Edition (ADOS-2), an observational standardised assessment of communication, social interaction, play and restricted and repetitive behaviours used for diagnosing and assessing autism. We also offer cognitive and learning assessments and run the Secret Agent Society (SAS) group program that helps kids 8-12 years crack the code of emotions and friendships.
