Registered Psychologist
Registered Psychologist Sophie Pachot brings a wealth of experience and compassionate support to the Sunshine Coast community through E&A.
She supports clients across the lifespan and has a special interest in severe trauma, adult depression and anxiety disorders, family violence, parenting issues as well as child and adolescent anxiety and depression presentations.
After obtaining her qualifications in France in the area of child and adolescent psychology, Sophie moved to New Zealand, where she began her impactful work as a counsellor in a women’s refuge. There, she delivered children’s programs, provided family violence counselling, and collaborated closely with child protection services and law enforcement.
After completing further study in New Zealand, Sophie established her own private psychology practice where she supported clients of all ages privately and for numerous government schemes and private organisations (in particular supporting survivors of sexual trauma).
Sophie is trained in EMDR (child, adolescent and adult), an effective therapy used to process events that have caused symptoms of PTSD, anxiety and depression, drug and alcohol issues and other struggles. Sophie also uses CBT and Structural Dissociation work.
After living in different countries, Sophie has developed a strong interest in cultural sensitivity which she applies in her work when meeting clients from different cultures. In her spare time Sophie enjoys travelling and exploring the beautiful countries she has been lucky to live in.
Sophie is registered with both the Australian and New Zealand Psychologists boards, is a member of both the Australian and New Zealand Psychological Society and a member of the EMDR Association of NZ.
